Why is Marvel so popular?

Marvel Comics, and their characters, have been around for years now, yet their popularity just doesn't seem to be waning. In fact, it's quite the opposite really, as some massive blockbusters of late have been based on comics, such as Iron Man and The Green Lantern. But why exactly is Marvel so popular and how has it stood the test of time?

Part of the reason has to come down to the characters. There are so many different ones, from The Incredible Hulk to the Silver Surfer, each of which appeal to different comic book buffs, as well as others. This presumably explains why Marvel slots are so popular too – the variety of games makes them highly appealing to different groups of people – a definite selling point.

Marvel Comics was founded back in 1939 – at that time, under the name of Timely Comics, and since then, it has spawned some of the most famous and alluring superheroes of history!

There's hardly a superhero film since the 1960s which hasn't been influenced by or based on Marvel Comics, which goes some way to explaining why they really have stood the test of time.
